Here is my setup I have a HP pavilion elite e9260f which has the following
i5-720 MSi motherboard (not sure which) GT 230 9 GB of DDR3 Ram dual channel 350 watt powersupply (yeah, I know it sucks) After playing Crysis for the first day and it ran with no problem I played like 30mins-1hour. The next day I popped in the disc once more and it began to crash on the beach. I'm not sure which part. right after you destroy that jamming signal. I am wondering if that is a common occurence. The monitor I have is a Samsung SyncMaster 2033SW and it also crashed on my Samsung HDTV 32" at 1366x768 resolution for the HDTV. The resolution on the SyncMaster is 1200x700. It crashes the same place on both. I am wondering if that is a common problem in that area. All my settings are on high on both the monitor and HDTV. So any help? I do not have the latest patches at all. Also, it's on Windows 7. |

My video card can't even run on a 350 watt psu on its own, with nothing else, sounds like your comp is being starved of power, or its the fact that crysis is the most unstable game out there, but then again, it IS made by EA, and they are a flaw factory when it comes to their games.

If the PSU is a HQ brand it would be just fine.. I run everything fine with just a Corsair 400watt, but again, it's a top quality brand. Powercolor or so, is not, and has not enough effective wattage and amps.
Also, why 9gb? Are you a game designer? If not, remove 5gb. 4Gb is just enough. Also make sure you have an 64-bit OS installed when using +3Gb of RAM in total. (GPU+System RAM)

I made some typos in the post. It's an I5-750 and 8GB DDR3 Dual Channel. Now the Nvidida GT230 is what my card is. Which I know is weird. I looked it up and there is a GT230 out there but there isn't info on it. I think it's only pre-assembled builds. I'm not sure My computer is an HP Pavilion Elite r9260f. I don't know what the specs of the video card are at all, but it is my card I looked it up on devide manager and it says gt230

The GT230 doesn't come out till December. That's weird that your PC has one :/
http://www.shopping.hp.com/product/r...Y556AA%2523ABA And my guess is it's your OS, i had the exact same problems with Crysis on my comp with w7 64Bit.. There's nothing you can really do about it.

I had a feeling it might have been the OS. I know that it sounds weird. I think HP and Nvidia have a contract though and that's why they are able to have them out early. Consumers just can't buy them. I heard that this happens from time to time to sell more stock. I have no idea who makes the video card though. I also don't know the complete specs of the card. Do you by any chance know the specs? I would like to know. My system says it can run everything on high but I do get some lag. I tried the Very High mod as well and it seems to have work better. But I haven't played it for too long. I just get to a checkpoing and then turn it off. I don't want to stress my system at all. Cause I'm not sure what motherboard I have or the power supply I have. Anyway to find that out? I know that HP has an agreement with MSI so I figured that's what it could be. Just not sure which

Download CPU-Z and GPU-Z
They should tell you everything you need to know, and if your not sure, take a screen-shot and we can help explain. The GT230 is a pretty basic card, equivalent to a 9600GT/9800GT from what I've read, if you want you can upgrade it, though you'll probably need a new PSU as well..

Well I am pretty sure I understand what CPU I have. Now the GPU I am not so sure of. As well as the motherboard I own. I heard that it is the equivalent to a 9600GT. Is the optimized setting from the Crysis options screen a good barometer to go by? It listed everything as high with no anti-aliasing. I just don't want to over-stress the card. I think I while eventually upgrade both the GPU and the PSU. But, at the moment I am going to stick to them. I also want to wait for benchmarks of the Fermi card by Nvidia before I make a decision of upgrading. Plus, if ATI is clearly ahead still they will probably lower prices.

Just check your GPU with GPU-z and report here. Also, a 9600gt shouldn't be kicking you out the game. You don't need a new gpu if you think this one is ok.
I would get a new psu for sure, IF you want to upgrade the GPU later, you'll be able to do that. And getting a psu now might fix you problem (I'm pretty sure it does, but there might be a chance that it wont)

It's an OS related problem, even after I fixed some of my issues it would crash randomly, google it, there are other people with the same problem.
As for your GPU, high details and 4xAA with a res of 1680*1050 should get you around 20FPS+ @nub, i have a HX620 and i get the same issues, it's a OS issue, not hardware.

Ah, alright. Thanks. I thought it might have been an OS Problem. My monitor doesn't show that res though. That was my other problem is a widescreen samsung syncmaster 2033SW and 20" The max res it shows or the optimal one is 1250x768 I think. I'm not sure of those numbers I'm not by my computer right now. But on the box it says it can show 1600x900 but I don't see that option anywhere. I also don't understand resolutions at all. 1600x900 I'm assuming is a better resolution but why won't it show at all? I've got the latest drivers for the monitor and on my HDTV 32" Samsung it displayed higher resolutions. So, it's not the drivers on the card either. Any help?
