HD5970 (5870x2) Spotted.

Assuming the memory modules are the same on both cards, It might have 2GB. It looks like it has memory on both sides. So, It'll either be 2GB or 4GB.

Even 2GB will be a bit of a stretch at 7680x3200 (6x30"), or even at 5760x2160 (6x22", a much more affordable resolution). Heck, I consider 1GB barely enough at 2560x1600 with AA and effects turned up, 2GB is definitely not going to cut it if there are 6 times as many pixels to render and keep track of.

Putting less than 4gb isn't a good decision. Well, you'll still have the option between 2gb and 4gb editions i hope?

That is going to be absolutely crazy...only a few months ago people would have thought it absolutely crazy to have 4GB of memory for a single GPU...

Honestly, i think this is targeted more at home theater use rather then gaming, not even the 5870 is fast enough for 6 monitors.

When AMD finally gets their act together and make Eyefinity work with crossfire, 2 5970s would make it work pretty well.

Last week we brought you the images of ATI’s upcoming dual GPU on a PCB video card called the HD 5970 (or more loosely the HD 5870-X2) which uses two RV 870 GPUs on one PCB. Today we are bringing you the pictures of another dual GPU on a PCB video card; supposedly this is the HD 5950 (or more loosely the HD 5850-X2). DJ tells us that according to GPU-Z, the GPUs used in this card consist of 1440 stream processors just like the GPU used in the HD 5850. Along with the pictures, DJ sends his regards.

In a conversation with AMD Product Manager Dave Baumann, HardOCP has clarified most of questions surrounding the much-debated availability of the ATI Radeon HD 5800 series. Excess demand and limited supply has meant it is difficult to get a HD 5800 series card, even at higher prices, and even though the product has enjoyed 6 weeks of launch.

However, availability has been improving, albeit slightly and at the cost of a higher price. Mr. Baumann expects mass widespread availability by the end of 2009, assuming AIBs continue air freighting the products, which is very likely.

Well my 5850 is running CoD 4//Need for speed shift comfortably at 5040x1050 Max details, Max AA//AF.

Just sucks I play cod 4 on vanilla 1.0 so the widescreen fix program doesnt work(it basically looks stretched)

A 5870 could do it even better.

2 x 5870's could easily do 6 screens. Maybe not crysis but not every game runs like crysis.

It should launch in the 550.00 to 600.00 range. Once Nvidia launches their high end, and if its able to compete, then you should see a 50 dollar price drop. I can't wait to see the 5890's hit market.

They should be out before the end of this month, but won't be in stock anywhere. Just like the Vapor-X 5870 only like 100 were produced due to lack of supply all round :/

I think the NDA on them expires soon aswell, so we'll see some benchmarks by the end of the month at least.

I heard that there isn't going to be a 5890 for awhile. Word is that there is a HD 5870-XTX instead. Sounds pretty nice, going back to the x1900 days of having the XTXZOMGWTFBBQSUPERCLOCKS edition.
