Well my 22" dell P2210 did not come with displayport cables even though it forgoes HDMI in favour of displayport..

Cables from online stores are $30USD++

Found one on ebay brand new for $15.

Now I have to wait longer for triple monitor goodness.

I have no doubt 5040x1050 will run fine for the most part >_>

It's just FoV and games actually scaling upto that res I'm worried about.

I can always get a 5870 later and crossfire :>

What do you mean with "Max" Maximum detail and no AA?

lol...I agree...Not even a 5870 can run Crysis with max details and full AA at 1920x1080...and a 4870 can't run Fallout 3 properly either.

Keep in mind that benchmark is a year old, and drivers have improved, and the test rig for that benchmark was running at 3ghz.

That doesn't equate to 30 fps, 5 at the most.

Here's the 2G version in April, 2009.

Back to OP, with 5850 I would get the higher resolution. It has plenty of memory, and can be over clocked to almost 5870 stock speeds. I just don't see any gains from going with smaller monitor. I can game on 19x12 with my 8800GT just fine. With Crysis, I just turn it down to 16x12 which is still on the native resolution list, and it runs great. You will not have any problems with a bigger monitor.

According to Game Informer, the graphics are not the most advanced on the market, but look really good. I doubt you will have too much trouble running.

It really depends on your budget too, if you can't afford a good 24" then stick to 22" and never ever ever try a 24". Once you move up in size it's hard to go back down.

I went from 17" to 22".. I thought 22" res made everything look too small at first.. But now that I'm used to it I could never go back. I can't stand smaller monitors now -.-

Could be because your cpu is @ stock?

@sebhitch is that in DX9 or DX10 vista//win 7?

I just played some FO3 at 1920*1080 ultra high full AA/AF and get 40FPS average when outside.. That's pretty good.

Yeah even if i was using some configs i wouldnt underestimate the 4870's power. Anyway if you have a good enough Gfx card i would definatly go 1080.

Its great for movies too
